I wrote a book. Now what’s the plan?

April 27, 2018 by Cynthia 1 Comment

So many ideas spinning in my head that I don’t know where to begin. Step one, talk to people with business expertise and make a plan. That’s what I’m doing and developing a plan.

My goal was to turn some of Cinzia’s Adventure blog posts into a book to celebrate 2 years on the good side. Sharing my story and the tools I use to handle the crappy things that happen in life with the thought that if I could help even one person, that’s why I’m still here. I wrote the book and didn’t have much of a plan beyond that.

Since the book has been published, I’ve been seeking clarity about what to do next with the book. In my mind, there is more to why I’ve shared such an intimate journey. Am I able to detail what is in my head? Not so much. ha! I just go in circles. What I do know, is that the tools I use in my life are deeply ingrained habits. So I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone to be open to discussing options for my ideas. Yup, ideas, that’s what they are. I called them strategies (oops) and soon that is what they will become.

I’ve got some work to do to understand my habits and detail the steps I use intuitively. It’s interesting to analyze yourself and the coping mechanisms you use in life. Not always an easy task. We’ll see what else I learn along the way. I have a list of recommended books to read related to habits and the mind, it’s time to see what research and studies show.

I’m getting organized to begin a 90-day blog. Honestly, without a plan, I would still be sitting here on the sofa in my kitchen, drinking coffee and wondering what to do next. I’m excited to get back to storytelling like when my adventures in Italy began.

Receiving reader feedback is so great!  Hearing what you connect to within the book is so helpful for creating blog posts. Keep posting reviews and sending me your comments. I want to hear from you.

What part of this journey would you like to know more about?

I can’t begin to express how much the book and accompanying journal helped me on my own journey with my cancer illness. The book was a great tool in helping me relate to someone who has been through some of what I am going through.

The journal has been amazingly helpful in helping me be able to express my feelings in a way that I felt comfortable. I could say things in my journal that I felt like I couldn’t or shouldn’t say out loud. I felt I was able to be creative and be myself for the first time in a long time. I loved the prompts, they really made me think of things that I hadn’t thought about. I received the journal during a long hospital stay, in which I almost didn’t survive. As I was able to use the journal it helped me process what I had just experienced in a way that was comforting and peaceful. I have filled up almost every page and go back to it daily to read the things I had written at different times. I will get another one and begin using it during the next phase of my journey. #ilmiobellisimoviaggio

And the fundraiser total is…

This week I had the pleasure of dropping off a cheque to the Saskatoon Cancer Centre for $1356.50. Thank you so much to everyone that bought bracelets, attending the bracelet workshop, bought my book and journal, and also who made cash donations. Every little bit is so appreciated and helps spread this act of kindness. […]
